The Stripey is a type of Sea Chub that can be recognized by a deep, compressed body, and distinctly slanting black and yellow stripes. They are sometimes categorized with Butterflyfish. This species lives on rocky and coral reefs in protected coastal and estuarine waters.
Fast, friendly and full of personality, these hard-to-find Stripey are a joy to watch in the home aquarium. Preferring to school, this little jewel is peaceful, but far from shy!
An omnivore, the Stripey readily accepts frozen and freeze-dried diets containing algae, supplemented with dried algae and vitamin-enriched frozen mysis shrimp, and frozen brine shrimp.
They have proven to be good Aiptasia eaters.
