Minstrel Dottyback, Pseudochromis sankeyi

The Minstrel Dottyback or Striped Dottyback is a beautiful black and white striped fish. The dorsal fin and edges of the caudal fin are transparent. Once a rarity in the home aquarium, they are now more commonly available due to successful captive breeding programs.

An aquarium with plenty of hiding places is ideal. They will prey on pests such as bristleworms in the aquarium, making this fish ideal for the reef aquarium. If more than one Dottyback will be maintained together in the aquarium, it is important to add them at the same time to the aquarium and provide many hiding places among the rockwork.

The Minstrel Dottyback should be fed a varied diet consisting of foods specifically designed for carnivores.
