Red Cardinal, Apogon pseudomaculatus

The Red Cardinal has a pinky red body colour with two dark spot, one behind the eye he other towars its tail.

An aquarium with caves and peaceful tank mates is a good environment for this slow and methodical swimmer. It should not be kept in large groups because of its aggressive behavior towards other Cardinalfish, although it does well in mated pairs. Special care should be taken if adding smaller shrimp species such as Anemone Shrimp, as they may be seen as prey.

The Red Cardinalfish requires a well balanced diet of foods such as flake foods, pellet foods and chopped meaty foods.
