The Gold Nugget Wrasse, Xenojulis margaritacea, also known as the Finspot Wrasse, can be found among the oceans of the Indo-Pacific, Philippines and Indonesia. They have a tan or beige body with darker brown splotches. Super males can develop a primarily green coloration with red spots. They reach a maximum size of 4 inches and should be kept in tanks of at least 50 gallons with a tight lid. They can be kept in reef aquariums, though they should be monitored around prized invertebrates. They may hide in the sand when stressed or sleeping and should have plenty of live rock to hide among. Their diet should consist of carnivorous preparations 1 - 2 times a day.
