The Femininus Wrasse, also known as the Blue Streak Wrasse, is one of the most breathtaking reef fish available, displaying brilliant electric blue and yellow coloration with graceful, flowing movement. Highly sought after by collectors, this elegant species brings unmatched beauty and activity to large, established reef aquariums.
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, particularly Australia, New Caledonia, and surrounding island reefs, Anampses femininus inhabits coral slopes and sandy reef zones, where it forages for small invertebrates.
An omnivore that thrives on frozen mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and quality marine pellets. Provide live rock for natural foraging opportunities. Feed 2–3 times daily in small portions.
Peaceful and reef-safe, best housed with non-aggressive species such as gobies, anthias, tangs, and fairy wrasses. Avoid boisterous or territorial tank mates that may outcompete it for food.
Peaceful. Rarely aggressive, though males may display mild dominance in pairs or small groups. Provide sandy substrate for burrowing and ample rockwork for shelter.
Recommended for advanced aquarists. Sensitive to shipping and acclimation; thrives best in mature, stable aquariums with pristine water conditions and a fine sand bed.
