Coral Pixy Hawkfish, C. Oxycephalus
Coral Pixy Hawkfish, C. Oxycephalus
Not very often found for sale, the Coral Hawkfish is a wonderful species, suitable for most reef aquariums this is one of the more desirable species since it is smaller and less of a threat to crustrations. An ambush predator, they have no swimbladder and will hop around from perch to perch within the rocks and corals, waiting for a tasty morsel to pass by! Beautiful to look at and full of character, they have a white/pink body with various patterns and markings. Growing up to 10cm, these need to be kept an aquarium at least 125 litres in capacity and offer a variation of meaty foods such as brineshrimp, mysis, and cockles.
