One of the most colourful and well known species in the marine hobby, and bursting with character too. For many hobbyists this is one of their ultimate dream fish. Juveniles are only available for a few months once a year, then they move into deeper water where few divers can catch them.
These juveniles around 1” can reach 3”+ within a year. Growth then becomes much slower, with most specimens eventually getting to around 6”, although occasionally specimens as large as 10” are seen in the wild.
Clown triggers vary a lot in personality. Most specimens get along well with other fish, and most corals, but, most attack or eat inverts, particularly small inverts. Some specimens (especially males) have a bit more attitude and at full size may need a fish only aquarium with other similar sized fish.
