Red & Black Sea Cucumber (Holothuria edulis)

Red and black seacucumbers are a peaceful reef inhabitant that will feed on what it scavenges from the sand bed, with that in mind it is only suitable for tanks with a reasonable sand bed. Sifting and turning the sand makes it a useful part of the clean up crew. Best suited to established tanks with a sandbed of two or more inches.

Like other sea cucumbers they're able to release toxins when very stressed or when dead and potentially poison the aquarium, this is however a very rare and unlikely event.
